Why power frequency is used in 50 Hz in India where in US it is 60Hz ??

India is a big country. so reduces the overhead transmission loss, eddy
current losses , and environment factor ( The average annual temperature
of India is greater than US) causes for we are use 50HZ power
generation.
but in 60 hz supply have many advantages like transformer size is reduces, quality of ac wave is increase.
but 60hz is most costlier than the 50 hz supply......
